LCL Shipping Rate Requests – Process When 3rd-Party Service Is Required
(Amity / Cruz Shipping)
When the sales team receives an LCL rate request that requires a 3rd-party service provider (such as Amity or Cruz Shipping), the following options are available:
Option 1: Door-to-Door Rates via Shipping Company
· Rates can be obtained on a door-to-door basis from the shipping company.
· Condition: For the shipping company to arrange door pickup, the shipment must be on crates or pallets.
· Since most LCL shipments are personal effects or household goods, they are usually not palletized or crated.
· We can arrange crating or palletization if required; however, this will increase the overall cost.
Option 2: CFS to Door Rates
· Rates can be obtained from CFS (Container Freight Station) to destination door.
· In this case, local transportation must be arranged separately.
· This is why we coordinate with transporters such as Big bird or Olivia.
· Process:
1. Obtain the CFS address from the shipping company.
2. Request transportation quotes from the approved transporter.
3. Add the transport cost to the overall rate.
